We deal with issues involving police reportedly getting out of hand all the time. We deal with how conservatives like to use such incidents to advance their "hate whatever it is the black guy did" agenda they have had going since God knows when. So when police mix it up with students and their parents at a Homecoming Dance held at their high school that results in dozens injured and cops from five jurisdictions coming out as backup, you can pretty much expect we are going to say something when that high school is Franklin High School in Somerset, NJ - DLJ's alma mater! Now this doesn't mean anything is going to go any differently than any other incident that has been dealt with. In fact, the situation is unfolding pretty much the same way it does in your more high profile incidents: community is angry about some incident where they say the police were out of control, the police and/or municipality puts out a statement, which is basically their side of the story, and the more conservative among us take that statement and that statement alone, disregard all the other statements, and use that to demonize those that have issue with the police. That last bit in particular is what is especially riling up the residents here because a bunch of clowns, many of whom have no connection to the Township, are posting hatemongering garbage on local discussion boards, and it came up at the town council meeting - repeatedly. In fact a lot of things did, and we pretty much agree that there is a slanted approach to how certain media outlets have reported FHS. To that end, we made sure that the statements of a number of witnesses, residents and students that were a part of the melee are included in this article - and it is pretty unfortunate that we are probably one of the few, if only, outlets to date that has even done that. Honestly, the real problem is unless there is some serious deviation from how this matter is being approached, we are sure the police are going to be "cleared of any wrongdoing" whether they are guilty of it or not, just like anywhere else. That being said, the town council and the mayor might be in trouble because people here put too much of their time in for them not to be respected for it. If they feel like their local government is not serving them, they will change it. A few years ago, Franklin Township (Somerset is a section of Franklin) changed it's government structure so that instead of the Mayor being appointed by the council, he or she gets elected. That first elected Mayor, Brian Levine, now has this little potential powderkeg on his hands. If he and the rest of the council - one of the members a former Mayor herself - don't handle this right, someone else will be sitting in their seats pretty soon. We urge them to ignore the online posts from those who can talk a lot of trash on a website forum, but did not have the balls to come to a town council meeting and talk the same trash - which by the way was all of them. If they need a barometer to weigh how the public feels about what happened, they had better remember the 300+ people who came to chat with them on Tuesday. That's all the barometer they need!

Back in 1999, radio show host Sean Hannity, who was not yet syndicated across the country at this point, was a lot less guarded, and at the time was palling around with Hal Turner, said on his radio program that hate crime laws were "laws against conservatives". That has always a pretty telling thing about where the right-wing in this country have been at, especially with the election of a black man as president. Well, in the same week that we have seen two right-wingers from overseas, Geert Wilders and David Irving, bounce around the country attacking Muslims and Jews, that black man sent a few shots across the bow of those that support crap like theirs. President Barack Obama signed a "law against conservatives" this week, which expanded the 1969 federal hate crimes law to include those who are attacked because of sexual orientation, disability and gender identity - not just gender, but by what gender a person identifies themselves as. But he didn't stop there. By week's end, he also lifted the 22-year-old ban against those who are HIV positive from entering the country. Now people can come here to get treatment, adopt children and come to conferences about AIDS awareness without being detained at the airport because AZT is found in their luggage (Google Hans Paul Verhoef). Again, these were shots across the bow. We are not just calling conservatives on their hatemongering, we are doing something about it - and them. If they keep up much of the temper tantrum, tea party BS they have engaged in much of this past year, eventually those shots across the bow will become much more than that, and we will blow them out of the water.

THE TIM JONES INTERVIEW
We always enjoy having to discuss things with people who positions we are on the opposite side of, and we want to thank Tim Jones for coming up to Philly to have a talk about a few things, most notably the video of him chasing a few street vendors out of the Sept. 12 tea party claiming they were members of ACORN. We had issues about that, as noted in this article, and he in turn had issues with our depiction, and wanted to discuss it. So we met in the Thuinderdome, where two men enter and one man leaves - sorry, Mad Max was on Encore today. Actually, we met outside Philly's main Public Library on Sunday and the video is presented to you here in segments. We start off with the ones that brought us to this point however. Enjoy.

We just learned that today, Holocaust denier and Hitler apologist David Irving will be at the Hilton hotel at 150 Australian Ave, West Palm Beach, Florida 33406. The meetinng starts at 7 PM. We don't know what is going to happen just yet, but as things develop we will let you know. There is likely to be opposition, as Irving is pretty much used to, and expects. The same cannot be said for the venues he chooses to use for his meeting places We go through this crap every year he comes out here, and it is always the same thing. We find out he is coming to our towns, we find out exactly where on that day or some time before, and in most of the cases come to find out that the venue was told that the David Irving event was brought to them as something else, something benign so as not to raise suspicion or cause the venue to say no. If you want to defend David Irving's freedom of speech that's one thing, but when someone is unwittingly forced to accomidate him without respect to what they want, that's pretty low. So we, along with another of activists from other organizations who have dealt with Irving over the years, have decided that this year we will send out this alert and this flyer for anyone to use. We also include a general flyer for use in your locale whenever Irving comes to your town. In the meantime, whenever you find out when Irving infests your town, let us know, and we will make sure the rest of the country knows as well. UPDATE: Irving movced tonight's venue after the Hilton threw him out! He is speaking right now at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Room Ocean 1. He registered under Focal Point Prouctions. You can call the hotel at (561)533-6000.
