On Monday, one era will end and another will begin.
Daryle Lamont Jenkins, Executive Director, One People's Project
For fifteen years, One People's Project has become a reliable source of information for those fighting hate and fascism – especially those who don't play nice! We have provided articles and bios on who is who and what they are up to, and it has become a very effective tool over the past decade and a half. And as we do that we have grown larger, to the point that it is time to expand our efforts, and change how it is we do things around here.
Many people already know from subscribing to our newsletter and from hearing me on the Final Straw podcast know what is about to happen, so let me just get to it. As of this weekend, the One People's Project website will simply be a website for this organization. The stories and materials published up to this point will still be available, although the Rogues' Gallery section is getting a makeover that we hope to complete soon.
This does not mean that we are giving up on our reporting, however. That brings us to our new website that will officially launch Oct. 11 – Idavox.com!
Named after the crusading Black reporter Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Idavox.com will be the official One People's Project newsline, providing all the reporting you have come to know us by. And we will be covering more than just the usual hatemonger we come across. There will be stories on arts and culture, thought-provoking op-eds, and multimedia presentations as we go along. Needless to say, we are looking forward to the future!
I want to thank everyone that has supported One People's Project over the years. It does my heart good to know we are making an impact out there, and Idavox.com is just continuing the mission! Hate STILL has consequences!Add a comment
