You know the neo-Nazi bonehead up in Pittston, PA named Steve Smith (pictured here in his 2003 mugshot from when he was arrested for attempting to assault a black man - which he got 30 days for) that everyone is talking about since it was learned he was elected (with one write-in vote – his) to the Luzerne County GOP Committee? Well since he is getting all that publicity, that might put a little more light in this annual event that he has held the last two Augusts. It’s called the European American Heritage Celebration and it brings out scores of neo-Nazis to the town of Moosic, PA free of the feeling that they will be able to hold a picnic unopposed by antifa or even the community. So far they have been right. Now let's not get it twisted. Again, Smith has been doing this for a few years now and this was in the planning before he became a Committeeman. Also, to those who like to respond to things like this by saying we should just ignore this event, that's exactly what Smith and those who plan to attend hope you do. Ignoring Smith is what helped make him a GOP Committeeman, so imagine what ignoring people who don't have such a public or well-known track record can do if that is our option. Indeed, no one has opposed this event to date, but now that notoriety has come to Smith that might have to change.
